Local fans are in for a treat on Friday 10 April when Huthwaite Boxing Club returns to the Grosvenor Rooms in Sutton-in-Ashfield with another action-packed card.
Featuring six of the club’s regular competitive youngsters, along with three others making their Huthwaite debuts, the show also sees the return of senior boxer Daniel Best, back in the ring after a two-year absence.
Tyson Price and Joel Price, both aged 11, 14-year olds Ashton Simpson and Corey Topless and 16-year old Matthew Sludds are all fighting on the card, alongside 12-year old Connor Kitchener in his last bout before entering the Schoolboy Championships.
The evening will see two 15-year olds walking out into the ring for HBC for the first time – Joshua Sheldon in his first fight for the club and Mitchel Seeley in a skills bout – while newly moved and highly rated Huthwaite boxer 16-year old Colby Tongue will also be making his first appearance for the club.
“We’re delighted to have Daniel making his comeback to headline the show,” said head coach Jordan Turner. “He is a special talent and I really hope he sticks at it this time as in my opinion he has a bright future in boxing and for the club. And we’re pleased to welcome Colby too – he’s a class act and really looking the part.
“All of the boxers taking part have been training well in the run up to the show. They’ve all been turning corners in improving their ability to get results and put on a great show for the friends and families who will be coming out to cheer them on.
“How appropriate that the show is on Good Friday – there’s no doubt in my mind that’s exactly what it’s going to be for all of the boxers and their fans alike!”
Doors at the Grosvenor Rooms open at 7pm, with the first bell at 7.30pm, and tickets are on sale on now, priced £12 for adults (£15 on the door) and £10 for under 16s. Visit Huthwaite Boxing Gym to get yours now or call the hotline on 07447 686307 for other options.
